Welcome, and thank you for bidding with us. We're a hands-on estate sale and liquidation business, and these guidelines simply keep our auctions fair and running smoothly for everyone. By registering and bidding, you agree to the terms below.
1. Items Are Sold As-Is, Where-Is
Every lot is a pre-owned item from an estate and is sold as-is, where-is, without warranty or guarantee of any kind. We describe and photograph each lot as honestly and completely as we can, but photos and descriptions may not capture every detail, flaw, or sign of age and use, and dimensions are approximate.
Please take a good look at the photos and description before you bid. When you place a bid, you're confirming you've reviewed the lot and are happy to accept it in its current condition.
2. Bidding
- When you place a bid, you're agreeing to buy the lot at that price if you win.
- The first bid can be placed at the starting bid; after that, bids follow the listed minimum increment.
- Some lots may carry a reserve price.
- A bid placed in the final minutes may extend the closing time slightly (anti-sniping), so everyone has a fair chance to respond.
- We can't be responsible for bids that are missed or fail because of technical, network, or internet issues.
- Please bid thoughtfully. We understand a retraction is occasionally necessary, and that's fine now and then — but a repeated pattern of bidding and then backing out isn't fair to other bidders and may affect your bidding privileges (see Section 7).
3. Payment
- Payment is due within 12 hours of the auction's close.
- You can pay through PayPal, which accepts credit cards, debit cards, PayPal balance, and other PayPal-supported methods — you don't need a PayPal account to pay by card.
- Your total is the winning bid plus any applicable sales tax. We don't currently charge a buyer's premium; if that ever changes, it will be shown clearly on the auction before you bid.
4. Pickup
- Pickup is local only — we're not set up for shipping at this time.
- Pickup is by appointment during the window listed on each auction (usually a two-day window after the auction closes).
- You're welcome to send someone to pick up on your behalf; they'll just need to identify the order.
- Our lots come straight from an estate that needs to be cleared quickly, so we aren't able to store items past the pickup window. Once the window closes, unclaimed lots have to be removed from the home and are no longer available.
5. Payment & Pickup Timing (All Sales Are Final)
All sales are final. Once you've won a lot there are no cancellations — but we know life happens, so what a missed deadline actually means depends a lot on timing.
- On time — paid within 12 hours of close. All set.
- A little late — paid after the 12-hour mark but still within the pickup window, while the lot is still here with us. No problem; we'll send a reminder. (Repeated lateness does add up — see Section 7.)
- Past the pickup window — if a lot isn't paid for by the time the window closes, we're no longer able to provide the lot because the estate must be cleared on schedule. In those situations, the lot is forfeited and a refund isn't available, which may also affect your account (see Section 7). Unfortunately, paying later can't bring the lot back.
The same applies to a paid lot that isn't collected within the pickup window — it's forfeited once the window closes.
Life happens. If something genuinely urgent comes up and you can't make the payment or pickup in time, please just reach out before the window closes. We'll always try to work with real emergencies.
6. Refunds
Because everything is sold as-is with no warranty, we aren't able to offer refunds for a change of heart, finding something cheaper elsewhere, or deciding a lot isn't for you once you see it in person. We know that can feel strict — which is exactly why we encourage a careful look at the photos and description first.
We will always make it right in the cases where the sale shouldn't have stood in the first place:
- Not as described — the lot differs from its description or photos in a significant way we didn't disclose (ordinary wear and age on a used item isn't a defect).
- Duplicate charge — you were billed more than once for the same lot.
- An error on our end — a system glitch, a mislabeled lot, or a similar mistake by us.
In some situations we may choose to make exceptions beyond the circumstances listed above. Any such exception is made at our discretion and does not create an ongoing obligation to do so in the future.
7. Keeping Things Fair
We're glad to extend goodwill to bidders acting in good faith — and the vast majority do. The only reason we keep an eye on conduct across auctions is so we can be fair and consistent with everyone who participates in our auctions.
Everyday slip-ups — handled gently
Things like a late payment within the pickup window, a one-time missed pickup you let us know about, a courtesy refund, or the occasional bid retraction. We make a note of them, and:
- The first time, we'll usually just work with you and send a friendly reminder that sales are final.
- If similar issues occur repeatedly, we may ask for prepayment before bidding, or have you sit out an auction or two.
- If a pattern really continues, we may need to pause the account for a while.
Serious issues — handled right away
Certain activities undermine the integrity of the auction process and may result in immediate suspension or removal without the gentler steps above: not paying at all and letting a lot be forfeited; payment chargebacks or fraudulent or failed payments; taking or tampering with lots you didn't win; shill bidding, collusion, or bid manipulation; creating duplicate or fake accounts; or treating our staff or other bidders disrespectfully.
A pause runs its course regardless of a later payment, and returning afterward is at our discretion — but our door is generally open to anyone acting in good faith.
8. Account & General Terms
- One account per person, with accurate information, please.
- By registering, you agree to receive auction-related updates by email and text. You can manage your text preferences anytime in your account settings.
- We reserve the right to reject bids, cancel a sale, withdraw a lot, correct errors, or extend bidding when needed.
- Beyond our good-faith descriptions, we can't guarantee the authenticity of items, and we aren't able to take responsibility for a lot once it has been collected.
These guidelines work together with our full Terms and Conditions, which form part of the sale agreement between the winning bidder and Yesterday Today and Tomorrow Estate Sales and Liquidation LLC. Questions are always welcome. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you find great treasures from the estates we serve.
